CC Resolution No. 5181 ' ~ ~ ~ RESOLUTION N0. 5181 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO At~1E27DING POLICY N[T"1BER THREE (N0. 3) OF THE MANAGE."4ENT COFQ'ENSATION PROGRAM WHEREAS, it is the City of Cupertino's policy to fairly compensate eli- gible peraons under the :9anagement Compensa[ion Program for attendance at con- ferences, meetings and training sessions; and WFiEREAS, the City Council desires [u modify the reimbursement schedule to reflect new per diem rates; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that page } of Policy Number Three (^Io. 3) of the Ptanagement Compensation Program be amended to reflect a per diem rate of $30.00 for attendance at conferences, meetings or training sessions held within the State and $35.00 for such a[tendance out of state, as shown in ~t[achmen[ "A" which is Lncorporated in this resolution by this reference. Such payments or reir~bursements shall not be made for hotel or lodging expense when incurred wi~hin the Local area. Exceptione to this requirement shall be for attendance at the Annual League of California Cities ConYerence and for those nights when attendance at other conEerences, meetings and training sessions official functions would preclude the return to the Ci[y by the attendee within two hours after the end o[ [he normal working day. IV. ATTENDANCE aUTHORIZATION ~ ~ A. Budgetary Limitations , Notwithstanding any actendance, auchorizacion contained herein, reimburse- ment for expenses incurred or expendicures made relative to conrerences, meetings or training sessions shall not exceed the budgetary limitztions. B. Conferences ' A department head and one designa[ed assistant may attend a conference. AC[endance by any other employee, management or non-management, may be au[horized by the department head subject to such attendance 6eing on t6e employee4 own time (c~mpensatory time off or vaca[ion time) and vith transportation and lodging being at the employee's own expense. The City r.~ay pay registration fees. C. Meetinqs ' Any employee, managemenc or non-management, may attend a meeting when authorized by the department head. - 3 -
