. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUYCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
REQUESTI:IG TERMINATION OF THE SOCI2.L SECURITY ~OLD AGE,
SURVIVORS, DISaBILITY, AND HEALTH L:ISURANCE) AGREI•:SENT
BETWEEN THE C2TY OF CUPERTINO AND THE STATE OF C?.LIFORNIA
, WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino, and the Scate of California entered into
~ agreements on December 26, 1951 and January 12, 1971, providing for Che inclu-
' sion of Che services of eligible employees of the Public Agency in the California
I State Social Security ~lgreement of March 9, 1951, pursuant to the provisions of
; Section 218 of the Social Security Act; and

' WHERFIIS, coverage of such services under the said agreements between the
' City of Cupertino and the State of California has been effect for not less than
; iive years from the effective date of coverage specified in said agreements as
required by law for termination of coverage; and
WHEREAS, is is understood that if the said agreements between the City of
i Cupertino and the State of California, and the California State Social Security
I agreement with respect to the Public ~gency, are terminated, the Pub11c Agency may
not again enter into an agreement with the State to provide for inclusion of the
services of its employees in the California S[ate Social Security agreement;
;IOW, TAEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council finds that it is in the
interest of the City of Cupertino [o terminate said agreements with respect to all
coverage groups thereoE; and
' BE IT FURTFiER RESOLVID, that Robert W, Quinlan, City Manager be, and is hereby
authorized and directed to no[ify the Board of ~dministration of the Public Employees'
' Retirement System of termination of the agreements of December ~6, 1957 and January 12,
' 19i1, between the Public agency and the State of California, as required hy law,
erfective Oc[ober 1, 1981; and
3E IT FURTIIER RESOLVED, chat the said Board of Administration be, and it is
hereby, requested to take such action as is required to effect termina[ion of the
' California State Social Security Agreemen[ of March 9, 1951, with respect to all
' coverage groups of the Public Agency, effective October 1, 1981, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, [hat the authorized Agent of the City of Cupertino, be
and it is hereby directed to foraard to the Board of Administration a certified copy
' oi this Resolution.
