RESOLUTION N0. 4670
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS AND RESULT OF GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF MARCH 7, 1978
WHEREAS, by proceedings heretofore duly had and [aken a General Municipal
Elec[ion was held in the Ci[y of Cupertino on March 7, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the votes therea[ (including absen[ee votes) were received, cast
and canvassed, and the returns thereof ascertained, determined and declared
in all respects as required by law;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cuper-
tino, as follows:
1. The foregoing recitals are, and each of them is, true and correct
and this Council so finds and determines;
2. The City Clerk be and is hereby instructed to enter this resolution
on the minutes of this Council as a atatement of the result of said election;
3. The total number of ballots received and cas[ in the City (including
ubsentee ballots) at said General Municipal Election was 2,740 ballots;
4. The list of candidates nominated for the office of Councilmember at
said General Municipal Election and the names of the candidates which were
set forth in the petition aesembled and filed with the City Clerk, as re-
quired by law, and the number of votes received and cas[ in favor of each of
' the candidates was as follows:

5. The numbez of votes received and cast for each candidate in each
precinct and by absentee vote was as indicated on Schedule "A" attached hereto;
6. That Barbara A. Rogers and Reed Sparks received Che highest number
of votes cast for the oEfice for vhich each was a candidate and said persons
were there6y elected to said office for the term as prescribed by law, and the
City Clerk is hereby authorized to sign and deliver thereto a Certificate of
Election and [o adminis[er thereto the Oath of Office prescribed in the Con-
stitu[ion of the State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTID at an ad~aurned regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Cupertino this 14thday of March , 1978, by the following
