CC Resolution No. 3899 .4 ~ RESOLUTION N0. 3899 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUP~RTINO ~ DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CHANGE STREET NAME WITHIN THE CITY OF CUPERTINO PURSUANT TO SECTION 5026 OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, FIXING TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARINGS AND PROVIDING NOTICE THEREOF; CHANGE SARATOGA-SUNNYVALE ROAD TO OLD HIGHWAY 9 WHEREAS, there has been evidenced in the community a desire to have a uniformiCy and continuity of names for streets and thoroughfares when the same extend without interruption through multi--~urisdictions; and WHEREAS, there also.has been evidenced a dissatisfaction with the ct~tribersomenes~ of the exisCing designation of Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road with its common practice of interchanging the two names and further confusion of 3ndicating north.or south as ~art of its identification; and WHEREAS, responsible officials of the affected jnr•isdictions have have met jointly on several occasions~in an effort to arrive at a common acceptance of an appropriate name; and WHEREAS, residents of the C3ty of Cupertino have responded to ' inquiry as to preference between said common acceptances of an appropriate name; NOW, THEREFOTRE, BE IT RESOLVED tliat the City Council hereby declares its inCention to rename the existing Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road to Old Highway 9.. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: 1. That the 21st day of May, 1975, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 10300 Torre Avenue, Cupertino, California, is the time and place for hearing on the name change; 2. That the aforesaid date is not less Chan fifteen (15) days ~ from passage of this Resolution as required by law; and 3. That the City Clerk shall cause a certified copy of this Resolution to be published in the Cupertino Courier, the official newspaper of the City, for at least two (2) successive weeks prior to ~he hearing, and shall caused cerCifie~ copies~to be posted along the street affected at least ten (10) days before the date of the hearing and no more than three hundred (300} £eet apart with a minimum of • three (3) being posted.
