A RESO~UTYON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CZTY OF CUPERTINO
OF COMMENDATION TO R~SERVE DEPUTY CHARLES FREDERICK BANKER ~
AND DALE VICTOR NELSON
WHEREAS, on October 27, 1974, Reserve Deputies Dale Victor Nelson
and Charles Frederick Banker were assigned to duty in Reserve Beat Unit
5-75 and while on routine patrol on this beat they responded to a report
of a v3olent disturbance at the Short Stop Market, 19541 Richwood Drive,
Cupertino; and
WHEREA5, Deputies Nelson and ~anker, who had the initial unit on
the scene, observed two persons suff ering from stab wounds at which time
Reserve beputy Nelson immiediately applied first aid to one victim ~aho
had a severe wounc~ 3n the artery of the neck wh31e Reserve Deputy Banker
administered ~3.rst aid to th~ second victim who was less seriously wounded
and then ass3sted Reserve beputy Nelson wit'h the f3.rst vict3an; and
WHEREAS, by taking such prompt action, a human life was saved;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mayor Reed Sparks in behalf of the City Council
and the City of Cupertino take this means to recogn3.ze and commend
