ORDINANCE N0. 894
AN ORDZNANCE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
AMENDING PARAGRAPH B OF SECTION 17.32.070
~ OF THE CUPERTINO MUNICZPAL CODE, RELATING
I TO RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE SIGNS, AND DE- •
CLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Paragraph B of Section 17.32.070 of the
Cupertino Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"B. One (1) on-site sign is permitted on each
parcel which has a unit for sale and one
(1) off-site sign for the purpose of open
house directions. A sign shall not be
located either .i.n the public riqht of
way, including, but not lfnited ~o, streeta,
medians, islands, shoulders, drainage swales,
bike lanes, gutters, curbs, park strips, aidewalke~
pedestrian walkways, bike paths, and (where
there are curbs but there are neither side-
walks, walkways nor bike paths) in the area
five feet (5') from the face of the curb
to the contiquous private property, or on
private property without the written consent
of the property owner."
Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared an urgency
measure and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon
its adoption. The facts constituting such urgency are as follows:
The Judges of the Sunnyvale Cupeztino Municipal Court
believe that the present provisions of Paraqraph B of Section
17.32.070 of the Cupertino Municipal are not sufficiently ex-
plicit, which is creating difficult law enforcement problem

for the City of Cupertino and the Sheriff's Office, all of
which is injurious to the public health, safety peace, com-
fort and qeneral welfare of the City of Cupertino and the
residents therein.

Council of the City of Cupertino this 8th day o! August ,
