ORDINA:dCE NO. 865
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO AMENDING
SECTION 12 OF ORDINANCE N0. 843 (REGULATING
STANDING OR PARKING ON PUBLIC STREETS) TO MAKE
THE VIOLATION THEREOF AN INFRACTION RATHER THAN
A MISDEDIEANOR, AND DECLARING T3E URGENCY THEREOF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Amendment.
Section 12 of Ordinance No. 843 is hereby amended to read in full
as follows: ~
"Section 12. Penalties. Any person, firm or corporation
violating any provis on of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of
an infraction, and,upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as
provided in Chapter 1.12 of the Cupertino Munfcipal Code."
SECTION 2. Urgency.
This ordinance is hereby declared an urgency measure and shall be
in full force and effect immediately upon its enactment. The facts
constituting such urgency are as follows:
, The City Council of the City of Cupertino
I believes that the penalty for violation of most of
~ its ordinances, including this ordinance, should be
uniform, and that the immediate enactment of this
ordinance is necessary to protect the public health,
safety, peace, cornfort and general welfare of the
' City of Cupertino and the residents therein.
ZNTRODUCED and ENACTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Cupertino this 20th day of March , 1978,
