THE CITY 00[IIZCIL OF THE CITY OF C[JPIIiT12J0 DOES HIItEBY ORDAIN that
Chapter 3.12, Section 3.12.030 A. oP the 0.tpertitlo Municipal Cade shall be
amended to read as follows:
3.12.030 Tmtasition. A. For the privilege of ooa:pancy in any hotel
each transient is subject to and shall pay a tax in the amauit oP eight
percent (8$) of the rent charcied by the operator. The tax constitutes a
debt used by the transient to the City which is ~rim„i,~,~ only by
payment to the operator or to the City. The tranaient shall pay tha tax
to the operator of the hotel at the time the rent is paid. if the rent is
paid in i *~=*p> > ~*+i-a, a proporticr~ate share of the tax shall be paid with
each install:oant. 4he unpaid tax shall be due upon the transient's
ceasing to occupy space in the hotel. IP for any reasons the tax dus is
not paid to the operator of the hotel, the Tax Achniniatrator maY requi,le
that such tax is paid directly to the Tax Administrator.
Section 3.12.030 B. shall not be c3sancred.
This ardiTSassce shall be effective August 1, 1989.
