Section 16.16.010. Adoption of 1984 Nati t Rt E+r_r,-i rat rye
The pmovisions of said National Electrical Ode an3 each and all
of the regulatioa:s, provisions, oonditiorts and tenor of said Dods (thn~
ocpies oP which have been filed for use and examination by the public in
the Office of the City Clerk) aril hereby referred to and hereby adopted,
the same as if fully set forth in this Oniirtance, and are by stuff
reference adopted and sections of this Ordinance.
Section 16.16.020. Article 100 Amended -pep nitirn,a
Article 100 is hereby amended by adding thereto the Following:
A. Electrical Cantrac*~+ra• For the p~pOBe of this article, an
Electrical 0.ntractor shall be a person holding a valid
electrical contractor's license issued by the State of
California.
B. n Electrician• No person shall act in the capacity
of Jotu»eymart Electrician, as herein defined, without a
janrtayman electrician's certificate of ocmtpetency, issued by
the Electrical Hoard oP F~mmitters, as provided in this
section.
C. ~ Electrician is an electrician qualified by
training aryl experience to do the recurring work
keep a facility in stuff ccetdition that it may be utilized at
.its designated capacity and efficiency, to do repair work by
zgplaoement or overhaul of axtstituertt parts or materials to
laeep or restore a facility to a oandition uY
equivalent to its original or design capacity or efficiency.

which are made a part of this Oode by reference, is intended to convey
tlse common and axepteci meaning familiar to the electrical i~nstty.
B. ~e Building official ar his assistants is hereby authorized to
determine the intent and meaning oP any pa~wisiarrs of this Code, Such
determination shall be made in writing and a reoortii kept which revord
shall be open to the public.

A. Article 110 is hereby amended by addiig thereto the followiig Article
110-23.

the mandatory r+equit~emerrts of this Ordinance is guilty oP an infraction,
and upon oonvictian thereof, shall be punishable as provided in Chapter
1.12 of the Cupertino Municipal Code, exioept that nothirrg herein coaitained
shall be deemed to bar any legal, equitable, or summary remedy to which
the City of Cupertino ar other political subdivision, ar arty person, firm,
corpozation ar narr,,orct,tp may be otheawise entitled and the City of
Cupertino or any other political subdivision ar person, firm, oorporaticn
or ~rtns+,zhip may file a suit in the Superior Ootrrt of the County of
Santa Clara, to restrain, ar enjoin any atteagrt~,ed ar proposed subdivision,
or acts, in violation oP this Chapter.
