AND 17.08.085 ARE HEREBY ADDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
Section 17.32.070 Residential Real Estate Signs
A. Real estate signs shall be permitted in all zones for the purpose
of announcing house sales, rentals and open houses.
tS. On-site requirements: Each parcel with a unit for sale is permitted
one sign pee street frontage, with a maximum of two (2) signs per parcel. Only
one (1) sign may be building-mounted. Each sign is limited to four (4) square
feet per side. Free-standing signs shall not exceed six (6) feet in height.
C. Off-site requirements: Each parcel with a unit for sale is permitted
a maximum of three (3) open house signs. The following restrictions shall apply:
1. Each sign is limited to four (4) feet in height and four (4) square
feet per aide.
2. Upen house signs shall not be located on private property without the
written consent of the property owner. The written consent of the
property owner is also required for signs located in the adjoining
public right of way.
3. Signs shall not in any way restrict .the flow or safe vision of any
vehicular or pedestrian traffic or obstruct any public directional
or safety sign or other sign permitted by the City. Signs shall not
be located on or in a corner triangle, street, median, island,
shoulder, drainage swale, sidewalk, bike lane, curb gutter, or bike path.
As a general rule, signs may be placed in landscaped areas adjacent to
public sidewalks if [hey are located outside of the forty (40) foot
corner triangle.
4. All open house signs shall be removed by sunset.
D. In addition to the other criminal and civil sanctions provided by law
or this title, signs which do not comply with these regulations shall be treated
in ilia following manner: Signs will be confiscated and the owners notified of
ttie violation, and a charge of five (5) dollars will be required to retrieve each
confiscated sign. All signs will be held up to a thirty-day period and then
destroyed or otherwise disposed of.

ti. In any prosecution charging a violation of the above regulations,
it shall be presumed, subject to rebuttal, that the person who placed, exected
or maintained any illegal real. estate sign is one of the following,:
1. The real estate broker or salesperson showing the residence
at any open house.
2. 1'he real estate broker whose name anpeara on any real estate sign
advertising the property for sale, lease or rent;
3. The owner of any residence or property being offered for sale, lease
or rent directly by the owner or;
4. The owner or manager of any multiple residence, a unit of which-is
being offered for lease or rent. (Ordinance No. 894 Q1, 1978;.
Ordinance No. 746 @ 8.07, 1977).
Section 17 32 100 Temporarv and Special Event Signs and Promotional Devices
F. Signs announcin¢ a city-wide event for a community organization shall
be permitted in the public right of way. The length of time such signs are
permitted, amount of deposit, and sign size, number, and location shall be subject
to staff approval. Applications shall include a list of all signs, including each
sign's dimensions and street location. In the event. that the sign(s) are not
removed within the allotted time, the City shall retain the deposit to cover the
costs of removing said sign(s).
Chanter 17.08 Definitions
Section 17.08.085 Conrrwnity Organization. "Community Organization" means a
non-profit organization whose activities benefit the City, such as the Chamber of
Commeerce, Fire Fighters Association, Aoy Scouts, Tournament o.f Banda, Churches
and School Districts.
