AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY -0F CUPERTINO AMENDING
CHAPTER 2.36 OF THE CUPERTINO MUNICIPAL CODE
PERTAINING TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION
COMMISSION
The City Council of the City of Cupertino does amend Section 2.36.010
of the Cupertino Municipal. Code to read as follows:
2.36.010 Established. The City Parks and Recreation Commission is
established. The City Parks and Recreation Commission shall consist of
seven members who are residents of the CYty, none of whom ahn11 be officials
or employees of the City and the seven members shall be appointed by the Mayor
with the approval of the City Council. ,.
Furthermore, the City Council adds the following Section to Chapter 2.36:
2.36.110 Effect. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed as re-
stricting or curtailing any of the powers of the City Council or City Officers,
or the delegation,to the Parks and Recreation Commission of any authority or
discretionary powers imposed by law in such Council or officers. The City
Council declares that the public interest and convenience require the appoint-
ment of a Parks and Recreation Commission to act in a purely advisory capacity
to such Council.
