CC Resolution No. 99-009 RESOLUTION NO. 99-009 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RECEIVING DECLARATION OF ELECTION RESULTS, GENERAL ELECTION, NOVEMBER 3, 1998 WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino conducted a general election for the purpose of submitting two ballot measures to the voters of Cupertino; and WHEREAS, said election was conducted on November 3, 1998; and WHEREAS, the Registrar of Voters of the County of Santa Clara, State of California has conducted the official canvass of the returns of said election in accordance with the appropriate provisions of the Election Code of the State of California; and WHEREAS, the Registrar of Voters has certified that the attached is a full, true and correct statement of the votes cast at said General Election; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cupertino hereby receives the Certificate of Election Results, General Election, November 3, 1998. Beattie, Registrar of Voters of the County of Santa Clara, State of California, hereby declare that a General Election was held in the City of Cupertino and consolidated with the Statewide Gubernatorial General Election on November 3, 1998 for the purpose of submitting Measures W & X to the voters of said City; and to wit: W ADVISORY VOTE ONLY. Should the unincorporated area of Santa Clara County known as "Rancho Rinconada" be annexed to the City of Cupertino? X In the event that the unincorporated area of Santa Clara County, known as "Rancho Rinconada" (as more specifically described in the full ballot measure), is annexed to the City of Cupertino, shall the city's existing utility users excise tax, imposed on electric, gas, and telephone users throughout the city at a rate of 2.4% of the monthly bills for said utility services (subject to an exemption for senior citizens) be extended to this area? That the official canvass of the returns of said election was conducted by the office of the Registrar of Voters in accordance with the appropriate provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California; and That the Statement of Votes Cast, hereto attached, shows the whole number of votes cast for and against each measure in the City and in each of the respective precincts; and that the totals shown for each candidate are true and correct.
