Staff member Jung explained that the applicant has requested a continuance to the next
meeting of December 6, 2007. He explained that project was approved a few months
ago, but that the applicant would like to make a modification to the approved plans.
She would like to remove a shared driveway. Staff does not support the driveway
removal. The applicant, Karen Ngo, is in the process of addressing Staff's concerns.
Staff is recommending a denial of the modification because the access closure would
force all rear traffic to drive through the Wu property. The neighbor, Mrs. Wu, is also
opposed to the driveway removal since it would cause additional traffic coming onto
their property as cars are exiting the site onto the street. The neighbor and the
applicant's legal councel have already been notified of the request for continuance. The
applicant came to the meeting with a new site plan to show the Committee. She
explained some history between her property and her neighbor's property. She feels
that the shared driveway situation is not working out, so the new plan has the driveway
entirely on their property. Chairperson Wong explained to the applicant that since the
request for continuance had already been recognized and staff has not had a chance to
review the new site plan, the Committee could not make a decision on the application at
this time.
