Dear Councilmembers:
The League of Women Voters of Cupertino-Sunnyvale is requesting a waiver of the fee for use of the
Community Hall on Oct 9, 2006 from 6-9:30pm to hold a candidate forum for candidates for District
Attorney in Santa Clara County. The candidates have specifically asked us to hold a forum to reach
voters in this area. Cupertino residents will benefit by being able to hear the candidates in person and
question them on issues of interest to them. We have also decided to make it a Pros and Cons meeting to
go over the Cupertino measures specifically.
While we understand the District Attorney serves residents of other cities in adition to Cupertino, by
hosting their forum you make it possible for your residents to meet the candidates personally. As the
overwhelming majority of attendees will be local residents, we appreciate your willingness to help your
citizens and make it possible for us to do this forum in Cupertino by waiving the fee for the room.
Thank you for your consideration
Sincerely,
E~~-:; ~
