Mayor and member of the City Council. I will be out of town on July 20th for the Cupertino City Council meeting. I would like to request my council colleagues to designate me as the voting delegate for the League of California Cites on Sept 15 to 17th in San Diego. The General Assembly meets on the last day on Saturday morning from 9am to 2pm. I have represented Cupertino as a voting delegate at the General Assembly for the past two years and I will be honored and humble to do it again this year with the support of my council collages. Also if you can kindly report out that on July 16th, I was in Riverside, California to interview with the nomination committee for the League of California Cities, Board of Director at -large position. There were about 23 candidates from all over the state of California and it was narrow down to 13 candidate to have an oral interview in Riverside. The nomination committee has picked me as a slate of one of five candidates to serve on the 2011 board. It will be ratified by the current board of directors in September. In the past, we had former Mayor Patrick Kwok and former Director of Public Works serve on the BOD. I was also honored and humble to be chosen to help the League advocate in Sacramento, city's right, local autonomy and education awareness. I look forward to seeing all of you at our next council meeting in August. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Regards, Gilbert Wong Vice Mayor City of Cupertino 1
