Subject: Director's Minor Modification, DIR-2010-20 to a previously approved Use
Permit (12-U-82), to allow mi�ior exterior building modifications, a new
enclosure for mechanical equi �ment, and site and building accessibility
upgrades for Trend Micro Systenls located at 10101 N. De Anza Blvd.
Chapter 19.132 of the Cupertino Miinicipal Code allows for administrative
approval of minor changes in a prc�ject. The Director reports his decision
to the City Council and Planning C:ommission in time to allow an appeal
of the decision within fourteen cale ldar days.
DISCUSSION
The applicant is proposing interior renov�itions to the existing office building including
relocation of server rooms and laboratoriE s. The necessary upgrades and enhancements
to the associated ventilation and cooling systems will result in the following exterior
changes:
• Removing portions of existing store i ront glazing in the north-west corner of the
building and replacing it with metal lo uvers
• Extension of an existing enclosure to ac�commodate three (3) new condenser units
• Application of brick veneer to the above enclosure and an existing stairwell
enclosure located just north of the cor.denser enclosure to match the main building
along the west property line
Also, as part of this application, the project will be upgrading the accessibility parking
stalls and appropriate signs to conform to Building Codes.
ACTION
The Director of Community Development deems the modification minor and approves
the changes since they will not affect the s�reet frontage along N. De Anza Boulevard or
Stevens Creek Boulevard.
The approval of the modification is effecti �e May 20, 2010. The fourteen calendar day
appeal period will expire on June 3, 2010.
