Dear Mayor and City Council members,
I am a Cupertino resident and Bicycle Pedestrian commissioner, writing on behalf of myself.
I request you to expedite the scheduling and final approval of Cupertino’s draft Active
Transportation Plan (ATP).
The draft ATP was reviewed and recommended by both the Bicycle Pedestrian Commission
and the Planning Commission in July 2026. However, the plan is yet to be scheduled for a full
Council review.
The ATP is a critical framework that builds on Cupertino's 2024 Vision Zero Action Plan and
2023 Local Roadway Safety plan. It provides essential infrastructure safety recommendations
to improve pedestrian safety and bicycle safety -- priorities our residents & community
members have emphasized in their inputs to ATP.
I request the Council to direct the City Manager to present the draft ATP for your formal
review and final approval at the earliest possible date.
