A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPERTINO
SUPPORTING DESIGNATION OF JUAN BAUTISTA NATIONAL TRAIL
WHEREAS, the De Anza Expedition of 1775-1776 was a unique historic
event having a significant impact on the citizens of the Cupertino area
and their descendants; and
WHEREAS, the De Anza Trail has had a far-reaching effect on broad
patterns of American cultuxe and on the culture of the people of the
City of Cupertino; and
WHEREAS, the De Anza Trail has significant potential for public reereational
use and historic interest for the people of Cupertino; and
WHEREAS, the designation of the Juan Bautista De Anza Trail as a component
of the National Historic Trail System would benefit the citizens of the City of
Cupertino;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The Mayor and the City Council of the City of Cupertino express their
support for the designation of the Juan Bautista De Anza Trail as a component
of the National Historic Trail System and request the Congress of the United
States so designate the De Anza Trail.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Cupertino this 15th day of ~Dr_i , 1985 by the following
