NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special City of Cupertino Public Safety
Commission Meeting will be held on Thursday, October 17, at 6:00 p.m. regarding the
following:
Public Safety Forum
The Public Safety Forum will feature a keynote from the Santa Clara County Assistant
Fire Chief Brian Glass and a fireside chat between the Sheriff's Captain of the West
Valley Station and the Santa Clara County Fire Department Deputy Chief, moderated
by the City of Cupertino's Emergency Manager. The Cupertino Public Safety
Commission will moderate the event. City Councilmembers may also attend.
Members of the public will be able to give feedback during Questions and Answer
segments. Representatives from each organization will be available throughout the
event.
This meeting will be held in Community Hall, 10350 Torre Avenue, Cupertino,
California.

the City of Cupertino regarding the use of ALPRs,

$185,000 for three years, with the option for two additional years and a maximum total
compensation of $300,000 (approximately $60,000 annually).

Notice is hereby given that the City of Cupdrtirtci_:is accepting applications for one
unscheduled vacancy on the Public Safety Commission. The vacancy occurred when
Commissioner Rohan Pandit resigned. The remainder term of this vacancy expires on
1/30/25. The vacancy is open until filled. Applications can be submitted via the Online
Commission Application at www.cul2ertino.org/vacancies. For more details, please see
the website or call the City Clerk's Office at 408-777-3223.
PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION
Eligibility Requirements: The Commission consists of five members, all of whom shall
reside within the City and shall be appointed by the City Council to serve four-year,
overlapping terms. None shall be officials or employees of the City, members of the
Sheriff's Department of the County, either regular or reserve, nor shall they be members
of the Central Fire Protection District. No members of the Public Safety Commission shall
cohabit with, as defined by law, nor be related by blood or marriage to any member of
the Commission, the City Manager or the staff person(s) assigned to this Commission.
Powers and Functions: The powers and functions are to advise the City Council on all
areas relating to public safety, traffic, and police, fire and other matters relating to the
foregoing. The Public Safety Commission falls under the Political Reform Act of 1974 and
members are required to submit Statements of Economic Interest upon appointment and
annually thereafter.
Meeting Schedule: Regular meetings are held at least once every other month on the
second Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. in City Hall, Emergency Operations Center
