SUSTAINABILITY COMMISSION
Thursday, May 21, 2026
At 4:14 p.m. Chair Fung called the Special Sustainability Commission meeting to order at the
Quinlan Conference Room, 10185 North Stelling Road and via teleconference.
ROLL CALL
Present: Chair Alexander Fung, Vice Chair Jack Carter, and Commissioners Susan Hansen and Sonali
Padgaonkar. Absent: Conny Yang.
NEW BUSINESS
1.Subject: Appoint a sustainability commissioner to replace Commissioner Yang
following her resignation from the waste diversion education training subcommittee.
Recommended Action: Appoint a sustainability commissioner to replace
Commissioner Yang following her resignation from the waste diversion education
training subcommittee.
Sustainability Specialist Victoria Morin introduced the item.
Commissioners asked questions which staff responded to.
Chair Fung opened the public comment period and, seeing no one, closed the public
comment period.
MOTION: Padgaonkar moved and Hansen seconded to appoint Commissioner Carter as
the waste education subcommittee's representative, replacing Commissioner Yang, with
Commissioner Fung serving as the first alternate and Commissioner Hansen as the second
alternate. The motion passed with the following vote: Ayes: Fung, Carter, Hansen,
Padgaonkar. Noes: None. Abstain: None. Absent: Yang.
ADJOURNMENT
At 4:34 p.m. Chair Fung adjourned the special Sustainability Commission meeting.
