SUBJECT AND ISSUE
Accept the Bicycle Pedestrian Commission (I3PC) recommendation to appoint Commissioner
Geoffrey Paulsen to the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority Bicycle Pedestrian
Advisory Committee fora 2-year term.
BACKGROUND
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee
{BPAC) has requested that the City of Cupertino appoint its representative to the BPAC for a
new two-year term effective as soon as possible. The term for Cupertino's current BPAC
representative, Joseph Walton, has expired.
The BPAC is a I7-member committee that advises the Valley Transportation Authority's Board
of Directors on planning and funding issues for bicycle and pedestrian projects. The appointee
must be a member of Cupertino's local bicycle advisory committee, shall live and/or work in
Santa Clara County during their term, and cannot be City of Cupertino staff. Cupertino has one
membership position on this committee.
The City of Cupertino's Bicycle Pedestrian Commission (BPC) has recommended Commissioner
Geoffrey Paulsen to be appointed to the Sant~~ Clara Valley Transportation Authority Bicycle
Pedestrian Advisory Committee fora 2-year term. The term shall begin on January 1, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact.
