ADDRESS: 288 - 19th Avenue, San Mateo, California 94403 SUBMITTED: July 27, 1979 LOCATION: Northwest corner of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Vista Drive SPECIAL FINDINGS: "The Planning Commission finds that the adherence to Medevac, Inc. Code 3 Operation Station Policies attached to the Medevac letter of September 4, 1979 coupled with the understanding that the average number of responses per 24 -hour period would be approximately six, will result in operational characteristics which will not have an unacceptable impact on adjoining residential neighborhood." AMENDED CONDITION: Said amendment shall enable a paramedical team to utilize the Emergency Medical Services Center and will allow the hours of operation for the Medical Service Center to be extended to enable the paramedical team to operate on a 24 -hour basis. The last paragraph of Condition 15 of Planning Commission Resolution No. 1890 is reworded as follows: "The Emergency Medical Center may be jointly used by paramedical personnel under contract with the County of Santa Clara or City of Cupertino. The paramedical staff is limited to one permanently based (24 -hour), two person team. The hours of operation for the medical facility shall be limited to the hours of 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. The paramedical team's hours of operation are unlimited." Do not exit the driveway with the siren on. 2. Daylight driving: Do not use the siren until it is needed for traffic. 3. Night driving (10:00 pm to 7:00 am): Use the siren only as needed and for major intersec- tions. 4. Do not exceed posted speed limits around schools and in heavily populated areas. 5. Obey California Highway Patrol regulations: Slow to 15 mph or less at red lights and stop signs. Come to a complete stop where con- ditions warrant. 6. STATION POLICY (from company policy manual) In order to establish and maintain a "good neighborTM' relationship with the communities we serve, Medevac employees are requested to keep noise to a minimum both in and around their stations. Areas of special concern: 1. Close all doors quietly. 2. Use minimum volume on the TV and radios. 3. Use minimum volume on the ambulance radio. Do not use the external speaker while on station. 4. Do not rev the enjine when starting the ambulance on station. 5. Visitors should be off station by 10:00 pm. 6. Siren testing shall not be conducted on the station site.
