Weed Abatement Supplemental
Kirsten Squarcia, Deputy City Clerk, declares as follows:
• That she is a citizen of the United States, over the age of 18 years, and that at all
times herein mentioned was an employee / agent of the City of Cupertino.
• That on June 3, 2019 she deposited in the United States Post Office, California, a
Notice of Public Hearing, a copy of which is attached hereto.
• That said mailing list has been provided by the Planning Department and lists the
owners of property who are entitled to Notice of Hearing.
• That on said day, there was a regular communication by Unites States mail between
Cupertino, California and the addresses shown on the attached mailing list.

Dear Mr. Venkatesh,
Your property has been placed on the enclosed Special Weed Abatement Program
Commencement Report for public nuisance (weeds) pursuant to Section 9.08 of the
Cupertino Municipal Code. Also included is a brochure indicating the guidelines to make
the corrections that are necessary. Please note that a special supplemental hearing will be
held during the City of Cupertino Council meeting on June 18, 2019 at 6:45 p.m., 10350
Torre Avenue, Cupertino, CA. At that time or as soon thereafter as the matter can be
heard, all properties identified by the Agricultural Commissioner as being non -compliant
with Weed Abatement Program safety regulations will be declared to have hazardous
conditions requiring abatement.

NOTICE TO DESTROY WEEDS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 21, 2019, pursuant to the provisions of
Section 9.08.010 of the Municipal Code, the City Council passed a resolution declaring
that all weeds growing upon any private property or in any public street or alley, as
defined in Section 9.08.010 of the City's Municipal Code, constitute a public nuisance,
which nuisance must be abated by the destruction or removal thereof.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that property owners shall without delay remove all such
weeds from their property and the abutting half of the street in front and alleys, if any,
behind such property and between the lot lines thereof as extended or such weeds will be
destroyed or removed and such nuisance abated by the. County Agricultural
Commissioner, in which case the cost of such destruction or removal will, including but
not limited to administration costs, be assessed upon the lots and the lands from which,
or from the front or rear of which, such weeds shall have been destroyed or removed; and
such costs will constitute alien upon such lots or lands until paid, and will be collected
upon the next tax roll upon which general municipal taxes are collected. All property
owners having any objections to the proposed destruction or removal of such weeds are
hereby notified to attend a meeting of said City, to be held in the Community Hall Council
Chambers of the City of Cupertino, 10350 Torre Avenue, on June 18, 2019, at 6:45
o'clock p.m. when and where their objections will be heard and given due consideration.
