Cupertino General Plan Amendment and Housing Element Update
On November 10, 2014, at 6:45 p.m., the Cupertino City Council will hold a Special
Meeting to consider amendments to its General Plan, including the Housing Element
and Heart of the City Specific Plan, and Municipal Code Amendments to conform with
the General Plan. The ordinances involve Below Market Rate Housing, Density
Bonuses, Parkland Dedications, and zoning changes to conform to the new General
Plan. Council will also consider certification of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR)
for these items. Note that this item was originally scheduled for November 3, 2014
but will now be considered on November 10, 2014 at 6:45 p.m. at Cupertino
Community Hall, 10350 Torre Avenue (next to the library). The City encourages
everyone to participate in these matters of significant importance to Cup ertino.
During this hearing, the Council will consider all types of Citywide development policies
and parameters, including heights, densities, land uses, retail, commercial, industrial,
and residential, including properties within the Heart of the City, Homestead, North
Vallco, North De Anza, South De Anza, South Vallco Special Areas and the Vallco
Shopping District. The Council will also consider prioritizing properties for housing to
send to the State of California Department of Housing and Community
