HomeMy WebLinkAboutASAc Reso 751HC -51,437.1 RESOLUTION NO. 751 OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE APPROVAL COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF SITE, ARCHITECTURE, LANDSCAPING, GRADING, LIGHTING, AND SIGNING FOR A SKATEBOARD RECREATION PARK. PROPERTY OWNER: Grover C. Sinsley APPLICANT: Steve Stockwell and Lynn Hethcock ADDRESS: 1039 - 17th Avenue, Redwood City, California 94063 LOCATION OF PROPERTY: Adjacent to and Westerly of Stelling Road The Architectural and Site Approval Committee makes the following findings with respect to this application: 1. That the proposed skateboard recreation facility is designed and configured in a manner reflecting use permit approval granted by the Planning Commission under Resolution No. 1712 adopted July 11, 1977. CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL: 1-8. Architectural and Site Approval Standard Conditions to the extent that they do not conflict with the special conditions enumerated herein. In the event a conflict does exist, the special conditions as enumerated herein shall apply. 9. That the recommendation of approval is based upon Exhibits A, A -1, B 1st Revision, B-1, C, C-1, C-1 1st Revision, C-2 and F 1st Revision of this application except as may be amended by additional conditions contained herein. 10. Exhibit A shall be modified to reflect a bicycle parking area with constant surveillance security as required by the Planning Commission. The "bonus built" bicycle rack shall be installed in the bicycle parking area subject to approval of the Traffic Engineer. 11. Consistent with Condition No. 24 of Planning Commission Resolution No. 1712, landscaping within Phase Two of the subject development need not be installed until properties adjacent thereto develop, or the skateboard park expands in size, whichever occurs first. 12. The proposed downspout on the south side of the pro shop building (Exhibit B 1st Revision) shall be relocated to the west end of the building. 13. Planting selections 4 and 5 depicted on Exhibit C-2 shall be changed to evergreen broadleaf varieties, and additional trees shall be added to the east planter area, subject to staff approval. -1- HC -51,437.1 RESOLUTION NO. 751 (continued) 14. The applicant shall present written documentation from a landscape architect at the building permit level verifying that at least 50% of the proposed plantings to be installed on the subject development are drought resistant; further, the applicant shall install drip irrigation equipment within all non -sod areas of the development, shall revise Exhibit C to provide irregular spacing of the Mayten trees adjacent to Stelling Road, shall provide more natural undulation to earth mounding adjacent to Stalling Road, and shall provide additional landscaping detail to the west edge of the skating area. 15. Concrete pedestals shall be deleted from proposed lighting fixtures which shall be installed at grade level. Fixture wattage shall not exceed 250 per lamp and coverage patterns for all fixtures will be subject to staff review at the building permit level.
