RESOLUTION NO. 706
OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE APPROVAL COMMITTEE
OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RECOU LADING APPROVAL
OF A SIGN PROGRAM FOR A SERVICE STATION AND
AUTOMOTIVE TUNE-UP SERVICE.

The Architectural and Site Approval Committee makes the following findings with
respect to this application:
1. That the proposed bright yellow background color on the "Quality Tune -
Up" portion of ground sign Exhibit F 1st Revision shall be changed to
a lighter shade of yellow (Rohm and Haas #2325 or equivalent) to reduce
the visual impact of the sign on public view corridors.
2. The Committee finds that the painted stripes on the tune-up building
enhance the architectural qualities of the building and agree with
the applicant's decision to repaint the stripes in earthtone colors.
CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL:
1-8. Architectural and Site Approval Standard.Conditions to the extent that they
do not conflict with the special conditions enumerated herein. In the event
a conflict does exist, the special conditions as enumerated herein shall apply.
9. Approval is based on Exhibits F 1st Revision and F-1 except as may be
modified by special conditions contained herein.
10. The Quality Tune -Up portion of the ground sign shown Exhibit F 1st Revision
shall be modified per Exhibit F of this application with a background color
#2325 or equivalent. The copy color of the gasoline price signs shall be
black.
11. The existing painted price signs in the service station offices windows shall be
removed.
12. That prior to installation of the ground sign shown on Exhibit F 1st Revision,
a financial guarantee for the removal of the existing ground sign on the site
shall be posted with the City in a form and amount acceptable to the Director
of Planning and Development. Said removal deposit shall be refunded in full
upon removal of the subject existing ground sign.
13. The existing red, green, and blue painted stripes on the front of the building
shall be repainted to contrasting shades of brown per Exhibit F -l.
14. The copy style of the existing painted wall sign on the front of the building
shall remain as is and shall not match Exhibit F -l.
15. The existing gasoline price signs on the site shall be removed. Tha applicant
shall prepare a landscape plan for the area immediately surrounding the proposed
ground sign shown on Exhibit F 1st Revision. Such landscaping plan shall be
subject to staff approval. Staff at its option shall refer said landscaping

plan to the Architectural and Site Approval Committee for their review.
16. The ground sign shall not be higher than the highest point of the service
station office building as per Ordinance 746.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of April, 1977, at the regular meeting of the
Architectural and Site Approval Committee of the City of Cupertino, State of
California, by the following roll call vote:
