RESOLUTION NO. 688
OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE APPROVAL COMMITTEE
OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF
CHANGE OF COPY FOR AN EXISTING GROUND SIGN FOR
FINANCIAL INSTITUTION AS SHOWN ON EXHIBIT F 3RD
REVISION.

The Architectural and Site Approval Committee makes the following findings with
regard to the subject application:
1. It is the Committee's intent in approving Exhibit F 3rd Revision that
modifications to the subject ground sign shall be a minimum variation
from existing design concept.
SUB CONCLUS ION:
(a) Exhibit F 3rd Revision substitutes white plastic faces
for existing dark blue plastic faces for the individual
letters, and increases copy size from 15 inches to 17
inches.
2. That the sign faces shown on Exhibit F 3rd Revision are larger than those
existing, and that the enlarged sign faces are consistent with Section
6.03.5 o.f the draft Sign Ordinance.
SUBCONCLUSIONS:
(a) The Committee recognizes that the advertising surface area
proposed under Exhibit F 3rd Revision in concert with two
existing wall signs for the savings and loan facility exceeds
the advertising surface area permitted under Section 7.021
of Ordinance No. 353.
(b) The Committee respectfully requests that the City Council discuss
the appropriateness of the Committee's decision in light of
conflicting provisions of these ordinances, and in view of
imminent enactment of the draft Sign Ordinance into law.
CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL:
1-7. Architectural and Site Approval Standard Conditions.
8. Lighting intensity for this sign shall be subject to staff review upon
receipt of complaint by the Planning Department of lighting intrusion
into the adjacent public right of way or adjacent properties.
