HomeMy WebLinkAboutASAC Reso 813HC -51,458.1 RESOLUTION NO. 813 OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE APPROVAL COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF EXCEPTION TO SECTION 6.03.3 of ORDINANCE NO.746 TO PERMIT INSTALLATION OF A FREE-STANDING SIGN ON A LOT WITH LESS THAN 200 FT. OF FRONTAGE ON A PUBLIC ROADWAY. PROPERTY OWNER: Coast Federal Savings & Loan Association APPLICANT: Coast Federal Savings & Loan Association ADDRESS: 855 S. Hill St., Suite 1214, Los Angeles, CA 91004 LOCATION OF PROPERTY: North side of Stevens Creek Boulevard, approximately ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 200 ft. west of De Anza Boulevard. FINDINGS: The Architectural and Site Approval Committee finds as follows with respect to this application: 1. That strict interpretation of this ordinance would result in inconsistency with the purpose and intent of the Sign Ordinance as provided in Section 11.01 of said Ordinance 746. Subconclusions: a. The proposed sign design as depicted on Exhibit H of this application is consistent with criteria a and c, described in Section 1.03.3 of Ordinance 746. b. A wall sign placed on the fascia would tend to clutter the horizontal dimension of the building design and detract from the variety of moods which the designer has attempted to create within the various spatial enclosures of the site. CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL: 1-8. Architectural and Site Approval Standard Conditions to the extent that they do nto conflict with the special conditions enumerated herein. In the event a conflict does exist, the special conditions as enumerated herein shall apply. 9. Recommendation of approval is based on Exhibits G, H, F-5, F-3, Sheets 1 and 3, of this application except as may be amended by special conditions contained herein. 10. Exhibit H and F-5 shall be revised to exclude the proposed free-standing sign at the north edge of the site; Exhibit F-5 shall be revised to include no more than 2 stamped -in -place fascia signs of the type depicted on Exhibit F-3, Sheet 1 of 3. 11.
