RESOLUTION NO. 786
OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE APPROVAL COMMITTEE
OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF
LANDSCAPING ADJACENT TO THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY
AND ARCHITECTURE FOR A SOUND CONTROL BARRIER FOR
A SINGLE-FAMILY SUBDIVISION WITHIN THE CITY'S
HILLSIDE PLANNING AREA.
PROPERTY OWNER: B.A.S. Homes, Inc.
APPLICANT: B.A.S. Homes, Inc.
ADDRESS: 20823 Stevens Creek Boulevard, Cupertino, California 95014
LOCATION OF PROPERTY: Adjacent to and westerly of Foothill Boulevard opposite
the intersection of Alpine Drive and Foothill Boulevard
FINDINGS:
The Architectural and Site Approval Committee recognizes that the alignment
of the sound control barrier at Lots 20 and 21 of the subject subdivision
as depicted on Exhibit C of this application is at variance with the sound
wall alignment depicted on Exhibit A 2nd Revision of Application 16-U-77.
1. It is the Architectural and Site Approval Committee's desire
that the final alignment of the sound barrier be determined
at the building permit level to the satisfaction of the staff
consistent with Condition 17 of Application 16-U-77.
2. The Committee endorses the concept of a reduced streetside
landscape setback on Foothill Boulevard adjacent to. Lots 20
and 21 from that depicted on Exhibit A 2nd Revision of 16-U-77,
due to the highly attractive stone material of which the sound
barrier is to be constructed.
CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL
1-8. Architectural and Site Approval Standard Conditions to the extent that they
do not conflict with the special conditions enumerated herein. In the
event a conflict does exist, the special conditions as enumerated herein
shall apply.
9. That the recommendation of approval is based upon Exhibit C of this
application except as may be amended by special conditions contained herein.
10. Exhibit C shall be revised at the building permit level to represent a
finalized alignment of the sound wall, with special attention to said
alignment on Lots 20 and 21 subject to staff approval.
11. The sound wall shall be constructed of stone subject to staff approval.
