Ordinance 18ORDI1`IANCE N0. 18 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO DOES HEREBY ADOPT BY REFERENCE THOSE PORTIONS OF THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY ORDINANCE CODE THAT PERTAIN TO THE CON'T'ROL OF DOGS. URGENCY CIaAUSE This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage as an emergency measure, being necessary for the immediate protection of the public health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Cupertino for the following reasons: The Department of Public Health of the State of California has found that rabies exists in the County of Santa Clara and pursuant to law has declared the County a rabies endemic area. To prevent the spread of rabies among animals, and to avoid the possibility of human beings becoming infected with the disease, it is imperative that all dogs in the City of Cupertino be vaccinated with anti- rabies vaccine. It is necessary that this Ordinance take effect at the earliest possible moment to reduce the above described danger of infection and spread of rabies among animals and, possibly human beings, and to eliminate the aforementim ed hazards which threaten the public peace, health, and safety. POSTING CLAUSE Copy of this Ordinance shall be posted in at least three 3) public places in the City of Cupertino within fifteen ~15) days after its passage as provided in Section 36933 of the Government Code of the State of California. Introduced at a regular rre eting of the City Council of the City of Cupertino on the 2nd day of July, 1956.
