AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CUPER'J'INO PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF THE
CITY CLERK
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to keep an
accurate record of the proceedirg;s of the City Council and the City
Planning Commission as provided iri Government Code Section 40801.
Section 2. He shall maintain accounting records readily reflect-
ing the financial condition of thE~ City and in cooperation with the
City Controller shall prepare a sti¢nmary statement of receipts and
disbursements by departments including opening and closing fund
balances in the treasury.
Section 3. He shall keep a kook marked "Ordinances" and record
in it all City Ordinances with hip; certificate annexed to each
stating:
(a It is a true and coz~rect copy of a City ordinance.
b The Ordinance numbez°.
c It has been published or posted pursuant to law.
Section ~-. He shall act as E~x officio assessor and shall
assess and collect al city taxes save and accept those collected by
the county officers for the City.
Section 5. He shall be custodian of the City Seal.
Section 6.
Ordinances.
He shall issue a1.1 City licenses as prescribed by
Section 7. He shall administ-er oaths or affirmations and take
and certify affidavits and depositions pertaining to City affairs and
business which may be used in any court of proceedings in the State.
Section 8. He shall perform all other duties necessary to the
function of his office required b~;~ law and as determined by the Mayor
with the consent of the Council.
Section g. He shall receive compensation as may be determined
upon by the City Council.
POSTING CLAUSE. Copy of this Ordinance shall be posted in at
least three 3 public places in the City of Cupertino within fifteen
(15) days after its passage as prcvided in Section 36933 of the
Government Code of the State of California.
URGENCY CLAUSE. This Ordinar..ce is hereby declared to be an urgency
measure, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
adoption. The facts constituting such urgency are as follows:
It is immediately necessary to define the duties of the City
Clerk which office has heretofore been created. The office of City
Clerk heretofore created and all acts performed pursuant thereto are
hereby ratified and adopted in full.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Cupertino on the 4th day cf June, 1956. Passed and adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Cour.:cil of the City of Cupertino on the
4th day of June, 1956, by the following vote:
