Ordinance 009(b)ORDINANCE N0. 009b A N ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCII~ OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 009 RELATING TO THE PROCEDURE FOR INTRODUCTION AND PASSAGE OF ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Section 9 entif;led "ORDINANCES" of Ordinance No. 009 is hereby repealed and in place thereof is enacted the following: Section 9 a. Ordinances other than urgency ordinances, where ordinances are required by law, and resolutions granting franchises shall not be pa:>sed within five days of their introduction nor at any th~:n the regular meeting. Ordinances and resolutions shall be introduced by reading in full by any Councilmen or designatE~d City official save and except as provided in Section 9b (sub). Further reading after introduction may be waived by regular motion adopted by unanimous vote of the Councilmen present after reading of the title. Urgency ordinances shall be read in full. b. Any alteration of an ordinance or resolution after introduction shall bE~ passed only at a regular meet- ing held at least five days after the alteration. Correction of typographical or clerical errors are not alterations within the meaning of this Section. c. Resolutions and ordinances containing legal des- criptions of real property shall describe such property in general terms by a reference to area, streets, "bounded by" and natural boundaries. Iri addition thereto, there shall be attached as Exhibit "A" a metes and bounds description and map. Exhibit "A" shal]. not be read except on motion duly made and passed by the majority of the Councilmen present. In the event of discrepancy in the description, the map shall prevail. d. Resolutions duly adopted as official forms of the City shall be read by tit1E~ only. SECTION II. That the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause copies of this Ordinance to be published at least once within fifteen (15) clays after its adoption in the Cupertino Courier, the official newspaper of the City of Cupertino.
