HomeMy WebLinkAboutASAC Reso 1267ASAC 51,698.1 RESOLUTION NO. 1267 OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE APPROVAL COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO DENYING A SIGN PROGRAM FOR AN EXISTING AUTOMOBILE DEALERSHIP APPLICANT: Architectural Design Group PROPERTY OWNER: Paul Weiss APPLICANT'S ADDRESS: 720 University Ave., Palo Alto, 94301 PROJECT LOCATION: North side of Stevens Creek Boulevard approximately 200 feet east of Stelling Road at 20955 Stevens Creek Boulevard FINDINGS: The Architectural and Site Approval Committee finds as follows with regard to this application: 1. The existing and proposed ground signs are inconsistent with the intent of the the Sign Ordinance. 2. The proposed area of the ground signs is far in excess of the commercial ground sign area standard contained within the Sign Ordinance. 3. The applicant has not presented justification for the extraordinary sign area. 4. Approval of the existing ground signs would hinder the City's ability to bring other non -conforming signs into compliance with the Sign Ordinance as their respective sites are modified. 5. This denial is based upon the ground sign component of the proposed sign program. The Committee finds the directional signs acceptable.
