DISCUSSION:
Mr. Sabalvaro explained the design concepts behind the proposal.
The applicants sought to bring the scale of the building down to
human level and to add color and softness to the exterior.
Member Nobel stated that ASAC was misled when the building was
originally approved. She believed that the building would have
plants along the balconies, flowers at the street level and
pedestrian activity.
Member Jackson felt the draped awning was attractive but looked
somewhat isolated. The applicants stated that they considered
placing awnings around the building but it looked like a quick
fix solution. They -stated that the proposed awning provides
shade for the secretaries on the first floor.
