SUBJECT: RESIDENTIAL DESIGN REVIEW ACTION LETTER - Application R-2008-18, EXC-
2008-11:
This letter confirms the decision of the Director of Community Development, given on June 20,
2008; approving a 365 square foot first and second story addition and an exception allowing
more than 50% of a second floor exposed wall height to exceed 6 feet at an existing single-family
residence, located at 10605 Farallone Drive, with the following conditions:
1. APPROVED PROTECT
This approval is based on a plan set entitled, "Residential Addition for Ellis Residence,
10605 Farallone Dr., Cupertino CA 95014" consisting of two sheets dated "May 15,
2008", except as may be amended by conditions in this resolution.
2. CONSULTATION WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS
The applicant is responsible to consult with other departments and/ or agencies with
regard to the proposed project for additional conditions and requirements. Any
misrepresentation of any submitted data may invalidate an approval by the Community
Development Department.
Please be aware that if this permit is not used within one year, it shall expire on June 20, 2009.
Staff has made all the findings that are required for approval of a Two-story Residential Permit
as required by the of Cupertino's Municipal Code, Chapter 19.28.100 (D). Also, please note that
an appeal of this decision can be made within 14 calendar days from the date of this letter. If
this happens, you will be notified of a public hearing, which will be scheduled before the
Planning Commission.

COMMUNITY DE VEL OPMENT
The City of Cupertino Planning Division received an application (file number 8-
2008-18) for a Residential Design Review for a 365 square foot first and second
story addition and an application (EXC-2008-11) for a Residential Design
Exception to allow more than 50% of a second floor, exposed wall height to
exceed 6 feet at an existing single-family residence located at 10605 Farallone
Drive. This application requires staff approval and neighbors within 300 feet are
notified with the opportunity to comment on the project.
City staff believes that the project is compatible with homes in the neighborhood
and intends to approve the project based on the enclosed plans.
