CUPERTINO BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN COMMISSION
Wednesday, December 17, 2025
At 7:03 p.m. Chair Ilango Ganga called the Regular Bicycle Pedestrian Commission meeting to
order at the Quinlan Conference Room, 10185 North Stelling Road and via teleconference.
ROLL CALL
Present: Chair Ilango Ganga, Vice Chair Gerhard Eschelbeck, and Commissioners Munisekaran
Madhdhipatla and Hervé Marcy (arrived at the meeting at 7:06 p.m.). Absent: Joel Wolf.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1.Subject: October 15, 2025 Bicycle Pedestrian Commission minutes
Recommended Action: Approve the October 15, 2025, Bicycle Pedestrian Commission
Minutes
MOTION: Eschelbeck moved, and Madhdhipatla seconded to approve the October 15,
2025, Bicycle Pedestrian Commission minutes. The motion passed with the following vote:
Ayes: Ganga, Eschelbeck, Madhdhipatla. Noes: None. Abstain: None. Absent: Marcy, Wolf.
2.Subject: November 19, 2025 Bicycle Pedestrian Commission minutes
Recommended Action: Approve the November 19, 2025, Bicycle Pedestrian Commission

MOTION: Eschelbeck moved, and Madhdhipatla seconded to approve the November 19,
2025, Bicycle Pedestrian Commission minutes. The motion passed with the following vote:
Ayes: Ganga, Eschelbeck, Madhdhipatla, Marcy. Noes: None. Abstain: None. Absent: Wolf.
POSTPONEMENTS – None
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
San Rao expressed concerns regarding staff interactions related to bicycle rack contracts and
liability considerations.

NEW BUSINESS
3. Subject: Tantau Ave/Forge Dr Traffic Signal (Dullu)
Recommended Action: Receive Presentation, Provide Input, and Recommend City
Council Approve Installation of Proposed Traffic Signal at the Intersection of Tantau
Ave/Forge Dr
Assistant Engineer Prashanth Dullu gave a presentation.
Commissioners asked questions, which staff responded to.
Chair Ganga opened the public comment period and, seeing no one, closed the public
comment period.
Recommendations included:
• Including software to adjust signal timing.
• Counting vehicles and pedestrians on an ongoing basis.
• Having a discussion with Apple about having vehicles exit via Forge Drive
instead of the Tantau Avenue driveway.
MOTION: Madhdhipatla moved, and Eschelbeck seconded to recommend that the City
Council approve the installation of a traffic signal at Tantau Avenue and Forge Drive to
enhance pedestrian safety, facilitate vehicle throughput, and improve operational
efficiency. The motion passed with the following vote: Ayes: Ganga, Eschelbeck,
Madhdhipatla, Marcy. Noes: None. Abstain: None. Absent: Wolf.
STAFF AND COMMISSION REPORTS –
4. Subject: Staff Update and Commissioner Activity Report (All)
Recommended Action: Receive Updates from Staff and Commissioners Regarding
Recent Activities
Transportation Manager David Stillman requested feedback on the 2026 Work Plan,
requesting Commissioners e-mail suggestions by January 14th. As a separate item, staff
will bring the CIP proposals for next year as well.
Commissioners asked questions, which staff responded to.
