HomeMy WebLinkAboutFall 2025 SR2S Survey Report - Final 01.14.2026Fall 2025 Student Transportation Survey Results Cupertino Safe Routes to School Cupertino Schools Survey Purpose •Cupertino Safe Routes to School has been collecting data on how students travel to and from school since the fall of 2015. This data helps us to better understand citywide student transportation trends across all grade levels. •This data is collected using an in-class survey. Teachers ask their students how they are traveling to and from school and mark their responses on a Travel Tally Questionnaire developed by the National Safe Routes to School Partnership. •The information that we collect is used to inform program decision-making and provide data for grant proposals. •This report summarizes the findings from our most recent fall 2025 survey, conducted from October 21 to November 14, 2025. Cupertino Schools Survey History •The Cupertino student transportation survey was first conducted in Fall 2015 for a subset of schools. The remaining schools were added in Spring 2016. •Since no students traveled to school during the COVID-19 pandemic, no survey was conducted for three periods: Spring 2019, Fall 2020, and Spring 2020. •The survey changed from bi-annual (Spring and Fall) to annual (Fall only) in 2021. •Teacher responses have historically been recorded on a paper form. 2022 was the first year an on-line form was offered. Approximately half the schools choose the on-line form. •Survey instructions updated in 2025 to more clearly state that driving, parking 2+ blocks away, and walking the rest of the way is “walking” Cupertino Schools Fall 2025 Travel Modes * Total alternative travel = all travel modes excluding family vehicle Data in this report may not equal 100% due to rounding.
