HomeMy WebLinkAboutASAC Reso 1075HC -51,590.1 RESOLUTION NO. 1075 (MINUTE ORDER) OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE APPROVAL COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RECOMMENDING THE INCORPORATION OF GENERAL CRITERIA FOR SIGNING WITHIN THE SPECIFIC PLAN FOR THE TOWN CENTER PLANNING AREA. FINDING;: 1) The Architectural and Site Approval Committee finds that satisfaction of the objectives specified in Section 1.03 of Sign Ordinance No. 746 will be advanced by the adoption of General Criteria for signs as a unified design element for future projects within the Town Center Planning Area. CRITERIA: 1) Ground signs limited to 50 square feet/face with a maximum of two faces. 2) Texture, color and materials of the sign background shall be similar to those of the building it identifies. 3) Method of illuminating ground signs shall be external. 4) Sign copy, logos and street numbers shall be of individual, -cut-out letters; style variable. 5) Use of wall signs for non-commercial uses is discouraged, except where display thereof is clearly demonstrated to enhance public convenience in locating individual tenants. 6) Ground signs shall be set back a minimum of ten (10) feet from property line to avoid overwhelming adjacent public sidewalks; height of a proposed sign shall be subject to individual -case review. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of October, 1983, at a regular meeting of the Architectural and Site Approval Committee of the City of Cupertino, State of California, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Committee Members Morrison, Nobel and Vice -Chairman Miller NAYS: None ABSTAIN: Chairman Higdon ABSENT: Committee Member Rooker ATTEST' 2 _ ______ PPR VED: • ' Ma Caughey Martin Miller, ice -Chairman Planner II Architectural and Site Approval Committee
