HomeMy WebLinkAboutASAC Reso 1049HC -51,015.21 RESOLUTION NO. 1049 OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE APPROVAL COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO APPROVING A NEW SIGN PROGRAM FOR THE CROSSROADS CENTER WEST OF SERVICE MERCHANDINSING. PROPERTY OWNER: Byer Properties APPLICANT: Gene Barbour/Ad-Art Electrical Products Corporation ADDRESS: 1607 Terminal Avenue, San Jose, CA 95112 LOCATION OF PROPERTY: South side of Stevens Creek Boulevard, approximately 600 ft. west of De Anza Boulevard (Mervyn's half of Crossroads Center). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FINDINGS: The Architectural and Site Approval Committee finds as follows with respect to this application: 1. The new sign program is consistent with the intent of Sign Ordinance No. 746. 2. The new sign program is compatible with the sign program adopted for the other half of the Crossroads Center (east of Service Merchandising). CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL: 1-7. Architectural and Site Approval Standard Conditions to the extent that they do not conflict with the special conditions enumerated herein. In the event a conflict does exist, the special conditions as enumerated herein shall apply. 8. The recommendation of approval is based upon Exhibits A -1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and letter from Eugene Barbour, dated March 31, 1983 of this application except as may be amended by special conditions contained herein. 9. The following limitations shall apply to all fascia signs consisting of individually -mounted letters: a. Copy color should be limited to the range of colors which includes red, orange, yellow, gold, rust, brown, ivory and similar colors. All other colors shall be subject to informal Architectural review. Red #2415 is not permitted. Logos may be of any color. b. The total vertical area occupied by copy may not exceed 30'" in height. This may consist of a single line of 30" letters or several lines of letters which cummulatively total no more than 30" in height. Limited, individual elements (such as a single letter) may be 4 ft. in height. 10. The cabinets of the under -canopy signs shall match the building color as closely as possible. 11. The approval of this application shall not be construed to constitute approval for existing signs in the Crossroads Center which do not possess legal sign permits. Said signs shall be made to comply with the privisions of this program immediately. - 1 - Resolution No. 1049 HC -51,015.21 12. Marie Calendars, Montgomery Place, Straw Hat Pizza and Pablo's tenants shall not be required to comply with the provisions of this sign program. Signing for these tenants shall be reviewed on an individual basis, when necessary. 13. The sign program for the mall shops (L'Orel Wigs, Houston's and Shirtworks) shall consist of the following: a. Cabinet signs. b. Size: Per Sign Ordinance. c. Height: 3 ft. d. Colors: Off -site background, copy color per provision 9a above. e. Single under -canopy sign listing all three tenants at east entry to mall. Colors per Exhibit A-2. Sign location is subject to staff approval, with the intent being to recess the sign a short distance into the mall approximately parallel with the satellite building containing "Sun and Soil". 14. The ground sign shown in Exhibit A-1 is not included in this approval. 15. Mervyn's may have a fascia sign over the east entry to the mall.
