PUBLIC HEARINGS:
1. Application 1-GPA-83 of CITY OF CUPERTINO: General Plan Amendment to consider
possible changes to the land use amendment involving development intensity
and road alignments for approximately 15 acres of land generally located
south of San Juan Road and west of El Cerrito Road in the Inspiration Heights
Subdivision. First Hearing.
2. Application 1-GPA-80 of CITY OF CUPERTINO GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT: Continued
Public Hearing to consider a comprehensive amendment of the City of Cupertino
General Plan and a Specific Plan for the Stevens Creek Boulevard Planning
Area. The General Plan will concentrate on land use,traffic circulation,
housing and economic issues which affect the entire community. The Stevens
Creek Boulevard Specific Plan will concentrate on the development of a more
detailed land use, circulation and urban design plan for properties which
abut the reach of Stevens Creek Boulevard between Stelling Road on the west
and Stern Avenue on the east.
3. MONTA VISTA DESIGN GUIDELINES: CONSIDERATION OF DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR THE
MONTA VISTA COMMERCIAL AREA. The Design Guidelines are being prepared to
complement and refine the policies adopted for this area in the "Stevens
Creek Boulevard Plan Line Study", also referred to as the "Monta Vista
Specific Plan". These guidelines will concentrate on the following matters:
- Architectural Standards
- Height and bulk of buildings
- Setbacks
- Building materials
- Landscape Standards
- Streetscape Details
- Street Lights
- Paving materials
- Benches, etc.

- Sign Standards
- Sign size
- Location
- Materials, etc.

MONTA VISTA DESIGN GUIDELINES (continued)
The standards and details will be used to "guide" new development,
redevelopment, sign changes and public improvements in the Monta
Vista commercial area. The area affected by these guidelines is generally
located as follows:
North and south side of Stevens Creek Boulevard from Highway 85
to Byrne Avenue and from Stevens Creek Boulevard to Granada Avenue
between Orange Avenue and the railroad tracks adjacent to Imperial
Avenue.
THE PLANNING COMMISSION WILL LIMIT ITS DISCUSSION
OF ITEMS 4, 5, & 6 TO THE SCHEDULING OF FUTURE
PUBLIC HEARINGS. THE MERITS OF EACH APPLICATION
WILL NOT BE DISCUSSED ON MARCH 28, 1983.
4. Application 1-Z-83 of VALLCO PARK, LTD.: REZONING approximately 42 acres
from OP (Professional Office) and CG (General Commercial) to P (Planned
Development with commercial, office and hotel intent) zoning district
or whatever zone may be deemed appropriate by the Planning Commission
and ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW:. An Environmental Impact Report is being
prepared as part of the General Plan Amendment (1-GPA-80). The rezoning
is requested to permit construction of a hotel and approximately 1.6
million sq. ft. mixed use development consisting of multi -story office
and commercial expansion to the Vallco Fashion Park Regional Shopping
Center. The subject property is located on the north side of Stevens
Creek Boulevard, east side of Wolfe Road, south side of Vallco Parkway
and at the northeast corner of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Tantau Avenue.
First Hearing continued.
5. Application 6-U-73 (Revised) of VALLCO PARK, LTD. (VALLCO FASHION PARK
REGIONAL SHOPPING CENTER): AMENDMENT OF THE 1973 USE PERMIT to rescind
certain conditions of approval pertaining to street improvements, truck
barricades and limitations on expansion of the Regional Shopping Center
and ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW: An Environmental Impact Report is being pre-
pared as part of the General Plan Amendment (1-GPA-8O). The subject
property consists of the Vallco Fashion Park Regional Shopping Center
located on the east and west side of Wolfe Road south of Highway 280
and north of Stevens Creek Boulevard. The Regional Shopping Center is
located in a P (Planned Development with regional shopping center/
commercial use intent) zoning district. First Hearing continued.
6. Application 2-Z-83 of CUPERTINO CITY CENTER (PROMETHEUS DEVELOPMENT):
REZONING approximately 26 acres from P (Planned Development with residential,
commercial and office use intent) zoning district to P (Planned Development
with commercial, office, industrial and hotel intent) zoning district or
whatever zone may be deemed appropriate by the Planning Commission and
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW: An Environmental Impact Report is being prepared
as part of the General Plan Amendment (1-GPA-80). The zone change is
requested to allow construction of approximately 1.2 million sq. ft. of
multi -story (maximum eight stories in height) office, commercial and
industrial buildings and a hotel. The subject property is located on the
southeast corner of Stevens Creek Boulevard and De Anza Boulevard.
First Hearing continued.
