Subject: Needed Repairs to the Trane Box Car, S/N C04CO2506 at the Library.
Dear Mr. Vasquez,
Thermal Mechanical Service responded to a request to check and evaluate the Trane Unit that serves the
Cupertino Library. The Unit was experiencing some operational difficulties. We completed the
evaluation and unfortunately found some problems that promoted this proposal response.
The Unit has (2) VFD Failures. The Motors served by each VFD appears to be still in Good Operating
Order, but a follow up Meg OHM Testing will be in order. The two VFD's need to be replaced. The
Manufacturer no longer supports the replacement VFD Units as stock items, so they are a Special Order.
We have elected to use two ABB Drives instead of the Original Danfoss Drives. The Unit also needs the
Bag Filters and Pre -Filters replaced, Coils, Drain Pans cleaned, and the Belts replaced as part of this
Repair Project. The Refrigeration Loops appear to be in Good Operating Order. The (2) Drives are
attached to the Exhaust Fan Motor and Supply Fan Motor. The Breakdown for the Repair Project is as
follows:
