See page 2 for field density test, page 3 for marked -up site plan, and page 4 for photos. Upon arrival, the soil subgrade for the patio was completed where highlighted in green on page 4. The soil subgrade appeared well compacted and probed very stiff. Two field density tests were conducted and results yielded at least 90 percent relative compaction and near optimum moisture content as recommended in our geotechnical report. From a geotechnical standpoint, the soil subgrade may receive at least 6 inches of Class 2 aggregate base rock. A member of our staff should return to observe and test at least 6 inches of Class 2 aggregate base rock for the patio area. See page 2 for a marked up site plan and page 3 for photos. Upon arrival, the foundation excavations for the residence addition where completed where highlighted in green on page 2. The bottoms of the foundation excavations were generally cleaned of loose soil and debris and probed very stiff. The foundation excavations generally measured at least 18 inches wide, at least 24 inches below the exterior grade, and at least 15 inches below the interior crawl -space grade, as specifed on the project plans. From a geotechnical standpoint, the foundation excavations may receive reinforcing steel and concrete. While on site, we collected a bulk soil sample to generate a laboratory maximum dry density and optimum moisture content for the soil subgrade compaction of the porch area. We requested the contractor to scarify, moisture condition and compacted the soil prior to testing. A member of our staff should return to observe and test the soil subgrade for the porch area where highlighted in red on page 2.
