WHEREAS, on Saturday, February Twenty-Fourth, Two Thousand and One, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the Iranian Federated Women’s Club on the occasion of the club’s 2001 Iranian-American
Scholarship Fund Raising Gala; and
WHEREAS, this local non-profit educational and service organization promotes and introduces the Iranian culture and community to the Bay Area; and
WHEREAS, the club’s charitable endeavors include projects such as Braille and audio taped books for the blind, the El Camino bell program and service to the elderly; and
WHEREAS, the club also provides an array of scholarships for outstanding Iranian students who are in need of financial assistance;
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that Mayor Sandra James, and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby commend and recognize the Board and members of the
Iranian Federated Women’s Club
For its valuable contributions and support of those in need, thereby creating a stronger Iranian community and a stronger community for the people and City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Friday, February Twenty-Third, Two Thousand and One.
