WHEREAS, on Wednesday, July Eleven, Two Thousand and One, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Bill Sullivan at a gathering in his honor, for his outstanding contributions to the
children, families and City of Cupertino; and,
WHEREAS, Bill served as President of the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 2000-2001. Under Bill’s leadership the Outback Steakhouse in Cupertino has been an exemplary
corporate citizen as demonstrated by its receipt of the Chamber’s Medium Business of the Year 2000 Award. Outback has also been a sponsor of the Cupertino Art and Wine Festival, an
event that Bill chaired in 1998 and 1999; and,
WHEREAS, Bill has been a profoundly effective advocate for collaboration with the city of Cupertino. Outback was a major contributor to the new Senior Center and has been deeply involved
with the Cupertino Education Endowment Foundation, Cupertino Rotary and Cupertino Little League; and,
WHEREAS, Bill has been involved with numerous area and regional projects in addition to his local involvement. He has been a generous supporter of the Cupertino Community Services Rotating
Shelter, the San Jose Sharks Foundation and charity events with the Golden State Warriors.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that Mayor Sandra James, and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby commend and recognize
Bill Sullivan
For his exemplary service creating a better and stronger community for the people of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Wednesday, July Eleven, Two Thousand and One.
