WHEREAS, Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy was founded in Nineteen Hundred and Sixty-Six to promote physical and spiritual health and to spread the message of “Love of the World and a Wish for
Peace;” and
WHEREAS, Dr. Hong Tao Tze, Zhang-men-ren of Tai Ji Men, along with Tai Ji Men dizi, have traveled the world representing Tai Ji Men and promoting love and peace; and
WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino is comprised of people of many races and religious backgrounds and there is an urgent need to remove causes of war in the minds and hearts of mankind,
the citizens of Cupertino support the goodwill and cooperation among people of all faith traditions.
Now, therefore, I, Mayor Sandra James, and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby proclaim that
Dr. Hong Tao Tze
in recognition of the profound message he has brought to communities throughout the world, is hereby recognized as an honorary citizen of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Thirtieth day of September, Two Thousand and One.
