WHEREAS, on Saturday, March 31, Two Thousand and One, the City of Cupertino wishes to regognize Wally Dean at a gathering of the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce, to honor him for his outstanding
contributions to the city, community and people of Cupertino; and
WHEREAS, Wally began public service as a member of the Cupertino Parks and Recreation Commission. He went on to serve eight years on the Cupertino City Council where he became known
as an innovator and avocate for the community; and
WHEREAS, Wally has been a profoundly effective advocate for numerous projects that have contributed directly to the quality of life in Cupertino including, the city Sports Complex and
the Measure G park acquisition; and
WHEREAS, Wally’s leadership was shown working with Apple Computer to make Cupertino its corporate headquarters. More than a business leader, he is a big supporter of Cupertino Community
Services and has always supported local schools.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that Mayor Sandra James, and the City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Wally Dean
For his exemplary personal and public achievements and for creating a stronger community for the businesses and people of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Friday, March 31, Two Thousand and One.
