WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the accomplishments of A-Mei on the occasion of a banquet held for her in honor for her first American tour and visit to Cupertino,
December Twenty-Six, Two Thousand and One, and
WHEREAS, A-Mei is the top female pop singer in Taiwan. For almost ten years, A-Mei has been competing in music contests and performing with bands earning the ever increasing respect
and dedication of her fans, and
WHEREAS, with the number of albums sold and how quickly both her albums and concert tickets have sold, A-Mei has set records. Her performances strike a chord with audiences around the
world, and
WHEREAS, A-Mei possesses a gift for music, singing and performance that has allowed her to touch the lives of an ever-growing number of people.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Mayor Richard Lowenthal, and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby commend and recognize
A-Mei
on occasion of her first visit to Cupertino and for the hard work and dedication that allow her to share her remarkable talents with so many, and now shares with our community.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Monday, December Twenty-Four, Two Thousand and One.
