WHEREAS, on September Twenty-First and Twenty-Second, Two Thousand and Two, as part of the Fourth Annual Silicon Valley Moon Festival, the City of Cupertino wishes to honor Saint Paul’s
Convent School; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul’s Convent School has collaborated with the Moon Festival of Silicon Valley, through which it has worked to enhance multicultural understanding between our students
and families and the students and teachers from Hong Kong; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul’s Convent School has worked with school districts serving Cupertino to find host families for 126 girls between the ages of 13 and 16; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul’s Convent School students stay with the host families and go to school with middle school students from Cupertino Union School District and high school students from
the Fremont Union High School District for to better understand American education.
NOW, therefore, I, Mayor Richard Lowenthal, and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby recognize and commend
Saint Paul’s Convent School
for its contributions to cross-cultural understanding that benefit the people, community and city of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Twentieth day of September, 2002.
