HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 Jerry Kayser Proclamation - Word - 09.15.2002PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Jerry Kayser in recognition of his heroism, clear thinking and selflessness thereby saving the life of another; and WHEREAS, on the Nineteenth of July, Two Thousand an Two, Mr. Kayser saw the car in front of him swerve and drive over a 75-foot embankment on Stevens Canyon Road; and WHEREAS, the driver of the crashed vehicle had suffered a seizure and was still in the automobile from which smoke had begun to emerge. Mr. Kayser ran to the crashed vehicle and pulled the driver to safety; and WHEREAS, within minutes the crashed vehicle was engulfed in flames. The clarity and decisiveness of Mr. Kayser’s heroism saved a life that day. NOW, therefore, I, Mayor Richard Lowenthal, and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby recognize and commend Jerry Kayser for his heroism and for the very highest standards of conduct that he has set for the people, community and city of Cupertino.
