WHEREAS, the Fremont Union High School District has always recognized that students have varying needs and for that the District has developed and implemented effective alternative programs;
and
WHEREAS, the Fremont Union High School District’s Alternative Education Program known as Educational Options has met the individual educational needs of its students for over the last
thirty years, and has been recognized throughout the state; and
WHEREAS, the Fremont Union High School District’s New Start Independent Studies Program is a major facet of its Educational Options Program which has allowed many students to continue
their high school programs; and
WHEREAS, New Start students have taken the opportunity provided and have developed a positive self-image and a sense of responsibility towards themselves, their schools, and their community.
NOW, therefore, I, Mayor Richard Lowenthal, and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby extend its heartfelt and sincere congratulations to
The New Start Program’s Graduation Class of 2002
as you receive your diplomas from your respective high schools. The Council conveys its best wishes for continued success in those endeavors you pursue.
